My name is Christine and I come from a long family line of dog lovers. As a young girl, my mother raised BIG dogs - Saint Bernards and Newfoundlands. As much as I loved these breeds, I decided not to follow in my mom's footsteps. I did, however, take an interest in small breeds - maybe because I could have more of them on my lap. Ever try and get two Saint Bernards on your lap? It's hard to get just one up there. As for my little dogs, there is always room for one more.

My name is Marg and I have been working with Chris for 10 years now. I have the same love of dogs as Chris, and this has been a dream for me to breed dogs. I am also a Licensed Dog Groomer, thus providing great information to the new families on the care that they must take when grooming their new puppy. As partners in the breeding of all the dogs from Garafraxa Kennels I take great pride in knowing that I have done my very best in raising healthy happy puppies. I have two dogs of my own, Max and Angel, they are both on the Cockapoo page. My dogs and I now live on the farm at Garafraxa Kennels and we are happy to call this home.

Why Do We Breed Dogs?

Well this is easy to say. We just love to hold a new baby puppy, just after it is born or to just sit and watch it move around until it finds it's first tit to nurse on. Oh the pure joy of it! And as they grow into the little beings that just steal your heart. There is no other joy like it except when you have your own human baby.

When wee ones are about one week old, we can hold them up to our face and they will try and nurse on your nose. At about 10 days, they open up their eyes and look around at the New World. The first thing that our puppies see is the puppy nursery, this is in our home.The walls are pink and blue. We have teddy bear wallpaper. We have a cot in the puppy room for us to sleep on if we have a new mom that's about to have pups. We just move in with her. This way we can be close at hand if she needs use. In the summertime, this room is air-conditioned to help keep mom and her pups cool. (MARG AND CHRIS TOO!).

Just outside the nursery are the runs for mom and her pups, (if weather is good).

All our moms and pups are fed the best puppy food. We like to use IAMS Eukanuba small bites and Med breed puppy food because we find that it is very good for mom and also for her pups. Feeding your puppies a good food also helps in the potty training. "If you put good food in them, you will have less mess to clean up."
